Location: I prefer to tutor at the Kingwood library. However, I am happy to come to your home or meet at another location of your choosing. (contact me for details). Potbelly Kingwood has been very friendly and accommodating for our small group sessions, they do ask that patron order food or drink while at the restaurant.
Discussion: I will ask your student what their goals are for the session. Test preparation, homework help and closure of knowledge gaps are common goals.
Work: I am happy to review class work with your student, work practice problems along with them, check their work for accuracy, share strategies for memorization and, of course, answer any questions they have about the class material.
While we are working together I make sure to celebrate the student's success. I see myself as a motivator during our sessions and I know that confidence plus knowledge yields higher scores and success in class.
Closing: Before our time comes to a close I like to look back at our work and check to see if the student has any final questions.
